No. Lawyered is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We help you find and connect with independent attorneys; any legal advice comes from the attorney you choose to work with.

You answer a short, private intake — what you need help with, where you are, the languages you prefer, how you'd like to pay, and your budget. We then rank attorneys by how well they actually fit: their practice-area focus, location, languages, pricing, and standing on the platform. You choose who to contact, and the attorney decides whether to take your matter. No lawyer pays to outrank a better fit.

For clients: joining, getting matched, and messaging attorneys is free. An optional Premium membership ($30/month) adds concierge matching — a real person finds and confirms your fit — plus priority support.

For attorneys: our first 100 founding members lock in a $30/month rate for life. You can start monthly, or prepay $300 for your first year (two months free) and continue at the locked $30/month from year two on. Standard plans run $100 to $200/month once the founding spots are filled. Lawyered never takes a cut of your legal fees.

Every attorney provides their bar ID number for each state where they're licensed, and we check it against that state bar's public attorney records as part of onboarding. Attorneys are independent professionals — as with any engagement, you can also confirm any attorney's standing directly with the state bar.

Yes. Your case description and every message between you and an attorney are encrypted at rest in our database, and access rules ensure a conversation is visible only to you and the attorney you're speaking with. We don't sell your information — see our Privacy Policy for the details.

We're live in New Jersey and New York today, and expanding. Attorneys can list every state they're licensed in — as we open new states, their profiles start matching there automatically.

Choose “I am a lawyer” on the home page and build your profile — practice areas, licensed states with bar IDs, languages, pricing, and bio — then pick your membership. The founding rate ($30/month, locked for life) is available to our first 100 attorneys. You can update your profile anytime from your dashboard, and cancel your membership anytime.
